After a recent visit to Mawamba Lodge in Tortuguero, I found the location to be truly stunning, nestled between the beach and canal, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by abundant wildlife. The spacious grounds and common areas are well maintained, providing a welcoming atmosphere for guests to relax and unwind.While the rooms may lean towards the rustic side, resembling a glamping experience, the Superior Room I stayed in was surprisingly comfortable and generously sized. The tours of Tortuguero village, beach, and canals were highlights, showcasing the beauty of the area and its diverse ecosystems. The attentive staff made our stay memorable, going above and beyond to celebrate my wife's birthday. However, the lack of detailed information upon arrival and some room maintenance issues did slightly detract from the overall experience.In terms of value, Mawamba Lodge offers a good balance between cost and luxury. The amenities including the outdoor swimming pool, bar/lounge area, and beach access are worth mentioning. However, for guests seeking a higher level of luxury and service, there may be better options available.
